I'm currently playing a lot of fingerstyle acoustic guitar although I was raised on folk and rock (Kingston Trio, PP&M, Beatles, Doobies, Allman Bros., etc.). Some of my favorites in the fingerstyle world include Lawrence Juber, Ed Gerhard, Al Petteway, Micheal Chapdelaine, Jim Earp and William Coulter.
The guitar I use for finger picking (see picture) is a James Goodall Pacific Model. It has a cedar top with curly maple sides and back and curley Koa binding. Beautiful guitar with great tone. The MP3 format doesn't do it justice - and neither does my engineering!
I'm also a member of a 5 piece band called Blind Dog that does "folk, blues, acoustic rock and contemporary music". Instrumentation is guitar, dobro, fiddle, bass, harmonica and various percussion. All 5 members sing. Lots of harmonies! I'll be posting numbers that we've recorded over the years for your (hopefully) listening pleasure...
